Back Country Horsemen of Florida
First Annual State Meeting - ”The Shindig”
was held at Tillis Hill on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Wow!  There was standing room only as over 130 people attended the Shindig!  Back Country of America Chairman, Jim McGarvey spoke to the crowd and emphasized how important it is for us to develop relationships and to work with our local land managers.  Working with these managers in preserving our trails is our first line of defense.  It is important for local equestrians to form and establish local chapters throughout the state and the country to ensure that this goal is met.

Christmas Social - December 18, 2014 @ Stumpknockers on the River

What a fun time for this lively group of 45 people!  The weather was great, if a little cool, but a nice fire warmed things up just fine.  Everyone had a great time and the White Elephant Gift Exchange was certainly entertaining.  Thanks so much to the Stumpknockers' staff for taking such great care of us.  The service was prompt, friendly and the food was simply outstanding!  Hope you can join us next year!

November 19, 2017 Meeting

FFBCH held its November meeting at Tillis Hill on Sunday, November 19, 2016.  The weather was a little iffy but cooperated with light rain clearing early.  We had Sonny’s smoked chicken and everyone brought a dish - it was a real feast!

Linda Boles of Find-M’ Friends was on hand and spoke to us about her organization and their efforts to locate lost and missing persons when called upon by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and other lawenforcement agencies.  They also raise and train and donate these
magnificent dogs to law enforcement agencies.  We have featured several articles in our last two newsletters about her group and you can check them out at ffbch.org, click on the newsletters to see all they do.  Linda spoke to us about her organization and how important scent kits are.  Then she gave us a super demonstration of how effective the dogs can be in finding lost and missing persons.
